Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled 3D Scanner Operator to support the digital preservation and production of high-fidelity 3D assets . This role requires careful handling of delicate artifacts, preparation for scanning, and operation of advanced 3D scanning equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle and prepare historical or delicate artifacts for scanning following preservation protocols.
• Operate high-resolution 3D scanners to capture accurate digital models.
• Stage and style objects for optimal capture, ensuring complete scans with multiple passes.
• Maintain detailed scanning logs, equipment calibration schedules , and project metadata.
• Troubleshoot scanning hardware and ensure consistent high-quality results.
• Collaborate with archivists and 3D production artists throughout the workflow.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience handling fragile or valuable objects with care.
• Basic understanding of 3D capture workflows and standards.
• Strong attention to detail, patience, and ability to follow precise protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with 3D scanning equipment, photogrammetry, or hybrid scanning.
• Background in museum studies, archaeology, or conservation.
• Familiarity with digital asset management (DAM) systems or metadata tagging.
• Passion for historical preservation and digital archiving.
