Actuary Analyst

Location: San Antonio, TX 78217

Contract: 6 Month

Domain: Actuary – P&C (Property & Casualty)

About the Role

W are seeking a highly skilled Actuary Analyst to support state filing processes, rate analysis, and actuarial modeling within the P&C domain. This role requires strong analytical capability, actuarial expertise, and the ability to work independently on complex, unstructured projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze assigned state data and manage the end-to-end state filing process , including developing/revising rates, performing trend analysis, and preparing documentation for the Department of Insurance (DOI).
  • Work closely with the Lead Actuary to obtain sign-offs and coordinate responses to any DOI objections.
  • Independently apply technical and actuarial methodologies to complete advanced actuarial projects with minimal guidance.
  • Select, validate, and analyze data required for trend analysis to support accurate rate level indications.
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements and run actuarial/statistical models.
  • Interpret, summarize, and communicate results clearly to support business decisions while maintaining a strong control environment.
  • Utilize actuarial, mathematical, or statistical techniques to enhance actuarial work product.
  • Apply understanding of insurance products, market trends, and stakeholder needs to solve unstructured business problems .
  • Ensure all business activities comply with risk, regulatory, and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Actuarial Science, P&C Insurance, Statistical Modeling, or Rate Filing .
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently on advanced projects.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Prior experience handling DOI filings , trend analysis, or rate development preferred.
