Job Description

Our client, a well-renowned research institution, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented contract-to-hire Administrative Assistant to support a busy and dynamic department. This position provides administrative and operational assistance to help ensure smooth day-to-day functioning within an engineering and research environment.

This role is fully onsite in Cambridge, MA, and requires a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive professional who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Compensation: $30-33/hr **

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate procurement activities: identify suppliers, obtain quotes, generate requisitions, and track orders
  • Manage travel arrangements and assist with travel authorizations and reimbursements
  • Support complex timekeeping processes for the department
  • Provide general administrative and office support to staff and management
  • Maintain department property tracking and assist with documentation and reporting
  • Create, edit, and post content to the internal website
  • Support management with outreach, proposals, and special projects
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years post-secondary education required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and general web-based tools
  • Ability to learn and use purchasing, timekeeping, and travel systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Experience in an engineering, scientific, or research environment is helpful but not required
