Applechem Inc., a proud member of the Solabia Group, is a fast-growing specialty ingredient manufacturer serving the personal care, cosmetics, and HI&I industries. We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Application Chemist II to help us transform cutting-edge ingredient technologies into compelling product stories through claim substantiation and application research.

In this role, you’ll be the vital link between R&D and commercial success—developing claim support with scientific protocols and robust data, and crafting beautiful, inspiring prototypes that showcase the power of our functional and active ingredients across skin care, hair care, color cosmetics, and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute in-vitro, in-vivo, instrumental, and sensory testing methods to substantiate product claims with science-backed data and engaging prototypes
• Independently formulate across personal care categories to highlight ingredient performance and support marketing claims
• Collaborate with external labs and CROs to accelerate testing timelines
• Translate technical findings into consumer-friendly language for marketing and regulatory use
• Mentor junior chemists and contribute to a culture of innovation and knowledge-sharing
• Ensure all claim support aligns with global regulatory standards
• Maintain detailed documentation and communicate findings clearly to internal and external stakeholders
• Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies

What We’re Looking For

• B.S. or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related sciences (polymer chemistry knowledge is a plus)
• 4+ years of R&D experience in personal care or cosmetics
• Strong formulation skills and understanding of ingredient interactions, stability, and market trends
• Strong experience in protocol development for supporting performance claim is a plus.
• Proactive, organized, and collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills
• Skilled in data analysis, lab techniques, and project management
• Passion for innovation and continuous learning
