Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shop Manager to oversee daily operations in our automotive collision repair shop. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for the automotive industry. This role requires excellent leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a team effectively while ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate shop activities, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies, ensuring availability for all repair jobs.
  • Train and mentor staff on proper use of power tools, hand tools, and equipment related to auto body repair, painting, glass installation, and restoration.
  • Oversee quality control of all repairs and services performed in the shop.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment that promotes safety and efficiency.
  • Assist technicians with complex repairs as needed, utilizing mechanical knowledge in auto body repair and restoration.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding service options, timelines, and recommendations.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of body shop management experience.
  • Proven experience in an automotive repair environment with a solid understanding of auto body and collision repair techniques.
  • Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to the industry.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Experience in auto painting and auto glass installation is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team toward achieving shop goals.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Previous experience in auto restoration is a plus but not required.
