Job Description

A leading automotive manufacturer is seeking a Compliance Counsel to join the Legal & Compliance team. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the company's operations adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

• Provide legal guidance on compliance matters across the organization, including manufacturing, supply chain, sales, and marketing.
• Develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs and policies to ensure adherence to federal, state, and international regulations
• Conduct internal investigations into potential compliance violations and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, HR, Procurement, Quality Assurance) to assess compliance risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Support training initiatives to promote a culture of compliance and ethical conduct.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise stakeholders on potential impacts to the business.
• Assist with audits and regulatory inspections, and manage responses to government inquiries.
• Draft and review compliance-related documentation, including policies, procedures, and contracts

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of legal experience, with at least 2 years focused on compliance in a corporate or law firm setting
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
