Boca Prep International School is seeking a Dean of Students.

The Dean of Students will be responsible for upholding and adhering to all expectations of students in accordance with our Handbook.

This position will also support and partner with families when disciplinary action is required.

This is a part-time role and will be combined with other duties e.g. a partial teaching load.

Main duties:

The Dean of Students is responsible for the establishing and maintaining a safe learning environment free from distractions and within the expectations of our school community as designated by our Handbook. The tasks under this role include, but are not limited to:

• Establish behavior plans during an on-site family meeting for students who are a distraction to learning in the classroom or learning setting
• Mediate conflict resolutions between students
• Support teachers in their classrooms and workspaces to ensure all students are meeting the Boca prep expectations
• Enforce the school handbook
• Attend school events and intervene should disciplinary issues arise
• Attend weekly department meetings to support teachers and learn of students who are struggling with disciplinary issues in the learning environment
• Generate infraction notices as needed and immediately contact families to inform them of the issue
• Oversee progressive discipline procedures and assign consequences as approved within the Boca Prep handbooks
• Notify the Head of School immediately if a safety issue concern/issue arises
• Interview students as deemed necessary for interviewing reasons, contact families
• Maintain documentation on all disciplinary issues using the secure network.
