Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Directional Drill Operator, located on-site in Columbus, OH. The Directional Drill Operator will be responsible for operating directional drilling equipment to install underground utilities. Daily tasks include preparing and maintaining drilling equipment, executing drilling operations, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The operator will also be expected to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during drilling operations while maintaining communication with team members and supervisors.

Qualifications

Experience in operating directional drilling equipment and machinery including trenchers, backhoes, and boring machines
Knowledge of underground utility installation practices and standards
Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting job specifications
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong communication skills
Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Certifications in utility installation or related fields are a plus
