  • Establish architectural standards, processes, and workflows to maintain design consistency, quality, and compliance across all residential products.
  • Partner with land acquisition, development, and construction teams to integrate design into community planning and execution.
  • Drive architectural innovation by balancing design creativity with cost efficiency, constructability, and market trends.
  • Review and approve schematic designs, construction documents, and specifications, ensuring accuracy, code compliance, and alignment with brand identity.
  • Manage consultant and vendor relationships, including engineers, designers, and outside architects, to support design execution.
  • Oversee permit submittals, entitlements, and municipal approvals from an architectural perspective.
  • Monitor workload distribution, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Act as a liaison with senior leadership, presenting architectural strategies and progress updates to executives and ownership.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of architectural experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level management role .
  • Licensed architect preferred, but not required if equivalent residential homebuilding experience is demonstrated.
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop a team of architects and designers.
  • Strong knowledge of residential design standards, building codes, and permitting processes.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with land, development, and construction teams.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary + substantial performance-based bonus
  • Relocation assistance available
  • Paid time off, holidays, and sick leave
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Car allowance and phone stipend
  • Direct access to executive leadership with influence over product and design strategy
  • Collaborative, mission-driven culture with a strong focus on community impact
