About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our clinical team. This is a rare opportunity to make a profound impact on resident care and staff development in a supportive, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all clinical and operational activities of the Nursing Department in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and all relevant regulations
- Conduct daily rounds on the unit to ensure the highest quality of resident care
- Hire, discipline, evaluate, and develop nursing staff; oversee recruitment and retention initiatives
- Facilitate meetings and committees to address resident care and operational issues
- Review and approve payroll, manage department budget, and monitor expenses
- Ensure adherence to all clinical protocols, policies, and standards of care
- Develop and manage systems for clinical competencies, staff scheduling, and nurse-on-call coverage
- Proactively address survey and compliance issues; participate in performance improvement programs
- Guide professional development and continuing education for nursing staff
- Resolve concerns from residents, families, and employees
- Assume full responsibility for the Center in the Administrator’s absence
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred
- Valid RN license in Michigan
- Valid CPR certification
- Minimum three years’ experience as a Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, or equivalent supervisory role in a skilled nursing facility (required)
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of state/federal regulations and nursing standards
