Job Description

TekPro Engineering is partnering with a leading electrical contractor in hiring an Electrical Construction Project Manager with a focus on institutional projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex electrical construction projects from initial bid through final completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to major healthcare, education, and other institutional builds.

Key Responsibilities:

Project & Account Management:

  • Manage project timelines, milestones, and overall scheduling.
  • Track financials, labor hours, and change orders.
  • Oversee material purchasing and deliveries.
  • Forecast material and labor needs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage billing processes and ensure timely invoicing.

Business Development & Client Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Manage large institutional accounts and foster repeat business.
  • Contribute to annual business development and revenue growth.

Estimating & Preconstruction:

  • Perform material take-offs and scope reviews.
  • Collaborate on project bids and finalize cost summaries.

On-Site Leadership:

  • Conduct regular site visits and project meetings.
  • Build trust and strong working relationships with field teams and superintendents.
  • Coordinate activities with subcontractors and site management.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Mentor less senior Project Managers and staff.
  • Guide contributing office teams on project deliverables.
  • Take full accountability for financial outcomes and project performance.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent field experience will be considered.
  • 3 to 7+ years of project management experience, ideally in institutional construction (healthcare, education, or similar sectors).
  • 2+ years managing complex electrical construction projects over $5 million.
  • Strong estimating and forecasting skills.
  • Demonstrated success meeting and exceeding construction KPIs.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and budgets.
  • High energy, adaptable, and solutions-oriented mindset.
