LHH Recruitment Solutions has an opening for a field based Senior Staff Environmental/Civil Engineer for our client in the Parsippany, NJ area. This high travel direct hire role allows you to expand your engineering career within a stable collaborative and thriving organization. This field based position requires a minimum of three years’ current experience in remediation including site investigations, soil and water sampling, reporting and pilot tests. Successful candidates will have proven extensive experience in complex construction and remediation work, logging of borings and supporting environmental projects. Candidates must have experience in conducting Phase I, II and III environmental site assessments.
Salary range: $70,000.00 - $90,000
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Investigate, review and interpret environmental, geological, and historical records to support environmental due diligence in every aspect needed
• Oversee and conduct site reviews and searches.
• Plan, coordinate, and conduct field investigations by logging borings, collecting and managing samples, performing field tests, and collecting and recording field retrieved data.
• Interact in a professional manner with clients, vendors and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with supervisor, including representing the company on field sites and during field meetings.
• Prepare, manage logs and field documents documenting field investigations such as drilling logs, field investigation forms, chain of custody logs) and remedial activities (air monitoring data tracking, daily reports and site maps).
• Manage subcontractors, and monitor conformance with construction documents, remedial work plans, and health and safety plans.
• Support the preparation and modification of cost estimates and designs for projects.
• Adhere by specific budgetary limits and manage tasks within.
• Supervise/coordinate/mentor the work of staff personnel, interns and others who assist in specific assignments as needed.
• Participate in field work regularly and work during evenings and/or periodically during weekends, as needed by project schedule.
• Collaborate and advise staff from other disciplines supporting environmental projects.
• Collaborate and be mentored to learn the roles of other disciplines.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Required - bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Civil Engineering with an environmental concentration, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field.
• Must have 5+ years’ experience in experience in conducting Phase I, II and III environmental site assessments such as - drilling observation, sampling, well installation, construction/remediation oversight.
• Must have experience implementing work plans for projects regulated by the New York City Office of Environmental Remediation and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
• Familiarity in the NJDEP Field Sampling Procedures Manual.
