Cogs is working with a well-established, internationally recognised industrial manufacturer with a strong presence across Europe and globally. The business operates in a technically complex environment, supporting a wide range of production and engineering functions across multiple sites. Purchasing is a strategically important function, closely aligned with operations and senior leadership. The organisation offers a high level of visibility, responsibility, and the opportunity to contribute directly to ongoing transformation and performance improvement across key indirect spend areas. This opportunity is Hybrid (3 days a week in office) and based in Bay City, MI.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead strategic procurement activities across indirect categories including Capex, MRO, Facilities, and Spare Parts, aligning with global supply chain objectives.
• Build and maintain strong, influential relationships with internal stakeholders across engineering, maintenance, operations, and senior leadership.
• Drive procurement best practices by applying industry-leading sourcing strategies, contract management, supplier performance frameworks, and cost-optimization initiatives.
• Act as a visible and active presence on the shop floor – putting on boots, engaging directly with operational teams, and gaining first-hand insight into facility needs.
• Deliver commercial value while ensuring procurement initiatives support broader business goals including sustainability, risk mitigation, and innovation.
• Mentor and influence cross-functional teams, demonstrating energy, charisma, and a collaborative mindset to inspire change and continuous improvement.
