Industrial Health and Safety Specialist

We’re seeking a Safety and Occupational Health professional with strong Cal-OSHA expertise and hands-on experience, who thrives in dynamic manufacturing environments, especially during new plant setups, process transfers, and workforce transitions. What You'll Do

You’ll lead and manage essential safety programs and collaborate across departments to ensure a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Core Safety Programs

• Stormwater pollution prevention
• Hazardous waste handling and disposal (RCRA)
• Confined space entry
• Fall protection systems
• Respiratory protection and fit testing

Risk & Compliance

• Conduct risk assessments for:
• New equipment installations
• Process transfers
• Workforce onboarding and training
• Investigate incidents and near misses using root cause analysis
• Drive corrective and preventive actions
• Ensure compliance with Cal-OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards
• Support environmental reporting and permit renewals (air emissions, stormwater, hazardous materials)

Training & Engagement

• Deliver EHS training and maintain documentation
• Lead onboarding, emergency response, and PPE use
• Promote safety culture through toolbox talks and committee participation
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
• 3+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, preferably with chemical processes
• Strong working knowledge of Cal-OSHA and industrial safety standards
• Proven experience managing programs in hazardous waste, stormwater, confined spaces, fall protection, and respiratory protection
• Excellent communication, training, and documentation skills
• Able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.

What Helps You Stand Out

• Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing
• Certifications: CSP , CIH , or similar
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
