Junior Estimator – Sheet Metal

Location: Farmingdale, NY (100% On-Site)

Employment Type: Permanent

Hourly Pay Range: $23.00 – $27.00, commensurate with experience

Flexibility may be considered for candidates with strong Sheet Metal estimating experience and proficiency with our software (or similar tools).

A busy and well-established Sheet Metal company in Farmingdale, NY is seeking a Junior Estimator to support its growing Estimating Department. This role is ideal for someone who is motivated, detail-oriented, and looking to develop a long-term career in Sheet Metal Estimating.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing estimates and material take-offs for Sheet Metal ductwork projects.
• Review and interpret mechanical blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
• Utilize electronic take-off tools, such as FastEST/FastDUCT or similar Sheet Metal estimating software.
• Conduct electronic measurements and calculations accurately and efficiently.
• Collaborate with senior estimators to learn company processes and industry standards.
• Communicate with internal teams to support project bidding efforts.
• Maintain organized documentation and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Basic proficiency in Outlook and Excel.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam and Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience with FastEST/FastDUCT or similar Sheet Metal take-off/estimating programs preferred.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints and specifications.
• Highly motivated and eager to learn electronic take-off processes.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work 100% on-site in Farmingdale.
