OVERVIEW:

  • The Loss Consultant is responsible for achieving sales goals and executing sales plans within an assigned sales territory and/or account. Generates and secures new business-to-business sales revenue for our Mitigation and Restoration services by prospecting and adding new commercial customers. Pro-actively sells Emergency Response Plan (ERP) Services to existing commercial customers, as well as "cold calling” prospective commercial clients. Informs customers of company promotions, upgrades and up-sell opportunities. This position is an AT WILL

SUPERVISION AND EXERCISE RECEIVED:

  • Receives direct and general supervision from the President

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Respond to and follow up on sales inquiries
  • Plan and prioritize sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims
  • Responsible for achieving SPR sales targets for water & fire victims and daily losses for commercial clients
  • Responsible for the creation and implementation of sales strategies
  • Integrate sales efforts with other organized marketing activities, (promotions, advertising, exhibitions, telemarketing, social media marketing etc.)
  • Must consistently track the development of such strategies and their resourcefulness, in order to achieve organizational goals and objectives
  • Responsible to create annual Commercial Sales Plan and revise accordingly
  • Responsible for the development of sales proposals and bids
  • Responsible for preparing various presentations as required
  • Required to assist in the oral presentation of business proposals and bids as required
  • Must keep track of market intelligence in the industry with respect to market development, projects, competitive activity, customers etc.
  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information
  • Should regularly attend client meetings, trade shows, networking events, conferences etc.
  • Plan and manage business portfolio/territory
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to optimize quality of service, business growth, and customer and satisfaction
  • Research and use customer and prospect contact activities tools and systems, and update relevant information held in these systems
  • Manage professional and timely customer service contact with clients, employees and vendors
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge of:

  • Must have an excellent level of technical and selling knowledge in all areas
  • Gathering information for the industry and the company's competition
  • Proper and appropriate phone skills and handling customer complaints and issues.
  • Developing and presenting creative solutions
  • Laws, rules and regulations that govern the areas of your job, the restoration industry including but not limited to your scope of work
  • Industry knowledge and the ability to seek knowledge if new to the industry

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) from a four-year college or university or related work experience
  • Minimum three (3) years proven sales track record in commercial sales
  • Prior knowledge of selling both a specific product and services preferred

LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid State driver's license

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; to operate a motor vehicle and to visit various customers and meeting sites; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. Tasks may require extended periods of time at a keyboard. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard, or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects, up to 50 pounds, necessary to perform job functions

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures
