Job Description

We seek a skilled Mechanics Team Lead to manage our maintenance team of 8-10 members. In this hands-on role, you'll ensure operational reliability and minimal downtime through expert maintenance of production equipment, extruders, bag converting, and recycling machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate a team of mechanics and technicians to effectively maintain and repair plant equipment.
• Oversee maintenance activities on extrusion, converting, and recycling machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues promptly to avoid production disruptions.
• Prioritize maintenance tasks based on production demands and urgency.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and mitigate equipment issues.
• Train and mentor team members on best practices for troubleshooting, safety, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with production teams to plan maintenance activities that minimize production impact.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities through CMMS.
• Recommend equipment upgrades and process improvements for enhanced reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Technical diploma or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, with 2+ years in leadership.
• Expertise in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, preferably in plastics or packaging industries.
• Proven leadership abilities with a focus on team development and performance.
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance, equipment diagnostics, and repair procedures.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting/programming and CMMS systems is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret technical documents and diagrams.
• Spanish language skills are beneficial but not essential.
