Health Information Services Technician

Location: West Hollywood, CA

Specialty: Non-Clinical – Health and Information Management

Shift: Day (5 x 8 Hours) 8:00 – 16:30

Position Details

• Start: ASAP
• Role Type: Temporary – Onsite
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in:
• Processing medical records requests for patients, providers, law firms, attorneys, etc.
• EPIC Release of Information (ROI) module (minimum 1 year required)
• HIPAA and Release of Information procedures
• Use of Kofax, PDF applications, and e-fax systems
• Data entry and processing accuracy of 95% or higher
• Preferred: RHIT/RHIA credential (not required)

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and prioritize requests from multiple sources and process through the appropriate systems within required timelines.
• Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations and HIPAA privacy standards.
• Address customer inquiries for patient information, assist callers with making requests, and provide general customer service.
• Educate customers on confidentiality and privacy regulations.
• Identify and respond appropriately to internal and external customer needs using available resources.

Skills Required

• EPIC ROI (Release of Information module)
• Strong data entry accuracy
• Knowledge of HIPAA laws and confidentiality protocols
• E-fax handling, PDF editing/processing tools
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
