Our client is seeking a strong Payroll Manager to oversee 2 payroll processors for a national food company. This role requires in office presence 5 days per week.
Responsibilities Include
Payroll Processing
· Supervise and execute end-to-end payroll processing across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
· Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate and timely processing of benefits-related payroll transactions.
· Develop a periodic audit process to identify and prevent errors.
· Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and implement best practices to streamline and enhance payroll processes.
Compliance and Reporting, Record Keeping and Documentation
· Stay abreast of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and ensure compliance in payroll practices.
· Prepare and submit required payroll tax reports and filings accurately and within specified deadlines.
· Maintain accurate and organized payroll records, checklists, including employee files, tax documents, and other related information.
· Development documentation of the end-to-end payroll processes and procedures.
Leadership and Team Development
· Provide strong leadership to the payroll team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
· Develop and mentor team members, ensuring their professional growth and success.
· Implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the payroll team.
· Foster a continuous process improvement mindset identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance the efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 5-10 years of payroll management experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.
Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
Proficient in using payroll software, excel spreadsheet and timekeeping systems.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle confidential information.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
