Job Description

Job Title: Product Development Project Manager

Location: Fort Lee or Hybrid or Remote

Employment Type: Full-time

Industry: Food Import & Trading

About Us

Since 1986, Overseas Food Trading Ltd. has been a trusted leader in importing and trading premium food products from all over the world. With a reputation built on quality, reliability, and deep industry knowledge, we serve both the retail and food service sectors across North America.

Our two core business areas include:

  • Finished Product Imports from Europe and Asia, supplying retail chains, clubs, gourmet distributors, and food service companies with Mediterranean specialties, sweets, frozen goods, and dairy products.
  • Bulk Ingredient Trading , where we specialize in Mediterranean staples such as olive oil, olives, and capers — earning a top-tier position in the U.S. market.

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Product Development Project Manager to join our dynamic team and drive the successful launch and coordination of food products from overseas to shelf.

Position Overview

As a Product Development Project Manager, you will play a central role in bringing imported food products to market. You will own the full lifecycle of product development — from supplier coordination to product readiness, working cross-functionally with suppliers, logistics, and sales teams. You will also support continuous improvement, process efficiency, and communication flow to help scale the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Project Management: Drive assigned product lines from concept to delivery, ensuring clear milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Supplier Engagement: Manage and nurture relationships with international suppliers, including onboarding, sampling, product specs, and pricing.
  • Development Coordination: Work closely with suppliers to develop new products or adapt existing ones to client needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Logistics & Operations Interface: Liaise with logistics and operations teams to coordinate production timelines, import requirements, documentation, and inventory flow.
  • Sales Enablement: Serve as the product development link to the sales team by providing technical/product knowledge, documentation, and timelines to support client success.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records, timelines, and dashboards to track project status and communicate updates internally and externally.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline development workflows, reporting, or supplier collaboration.

Qualifications & Profile

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–5 years’ experience in product development, project management, or supply chain within the food, CPG, or import industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with project management tools is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage time and priorities while collaborating across teams.
  • Experience working with international suppliers and understanding of food import documentation is a plus.

Personal Qualities

  • Curious, hands-on, and results-driven
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a solution-oriented approach
  • Reliable, accountable, and eager to grow
  • Able to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
  • Team player with a collaborative spirit

What We Offer

  • A key role in a fast-growing, international food trading company
  • Growth opportunities in project management, sourcing, or category leadership
  • A dynamic and entrepreneurial culture where your input is valued

Benefits Include:

  • 401(k) with 6% Company Match – we invest in your future
  • Outstanding Health Insurance – comprehensive coverage to keep you and your family healthy

Join us in shaping the future of fine food import and distribution.

Submit your application and become a part of a company where passion, quality, and teamwork come together.
