Role: Proofpoint Automation Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Proofpoint Automation Engineer with 4–5 years of experience in automating email security workflows using Proofpoint solutions. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation processes that enhance threat detection, response, and reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain automation workflows within the Proofpoint platform to support email threat detection, remediation, and reporting.
• Integrate Proofpoint with other security tools and platforms to streamline incident response and threat intelligence sharing.
• Collaborate with SOC, IT, and cybersecurity teams to understand requirements and deliver automation solutions.
• Monitor and optimize email security policies and automation rules for performance and accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation scripts, integrations, and platform configurations.
• Maintain documentation for automation processes, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Provide support during security incidents and participate in on-call rotations as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Proofpoint Email Security and Threat Protection solutions.
• Strong experience in automation scripting (Python, PowerShell, or similar).
• Familiarity with Proofpoint APIs and integration capabilities.
• Understanding of email threat vectors, phishing campaigns, and malware delivery mechanisms.
• Experience with SIEM platforms and incident response workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Proofpoint TAP (Targeted Attack Protection) and Threat Response Auto-Pull (TRAP).
• Exposure to SOAR platforms (e.g., Cortex XSOAR, Splunk Phantom).

Knowledge of cloud email platforms (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
