Position Overview
The Remote Proofreader will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of all written content produced by WeCare Medical Specialty Group. This includes patient-facing materials, internal communications, marketing collateral, and clinical documentation. The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for detail, a solid understanding of grammar and style guidelines, and a passion for healthcare communication.
Key Responsibilities
Review, proofread, and edit a variety of documents including patient education materials, digital content, clinical reports, newsletters, social media posts, and marketing materials.
Ensure all written content adheres to company tone, brand guidelines, and healthcare communication standards.
Correct errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting.
Identify inconsistencies in terminology, structure, and usage.
Collaborate with content creators, medical staff, and marketing teams to clarify intended meaning when necessary.
Maintain version control and accurate records of edits and revisions.
Provide suggestions to improve clarity, readability, and overall quality of the content.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, accessibility standards, and other relevant healthcare regulations.
Meet deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative, and remote work environment.
Qualifications
Required:
U.S. Citizenship or valid U.S. Work Permit (mandatory).
High school diploma or GED; Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred.
2+ years of professional proofreading, editing, or copyediting experience.
Exceptional command of the English language and grammar.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and Adobe Acrobat.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines independently.
Familiarity with AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, or AMA Manual of Style.
Preferred:
Experience in healthcare, medical, or clinical editing.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and health literacy best practices.
Working knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello).
