Nursing Supervisor – Addiction Recovery Services

Position Overview

The Nursing Supervisor oversees nursing operations within both residential and outpatient addiction treatment settings. This role ensures safe medication management, regulatory compliance, high-quality clinical care, and effective leadership of nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Medical Oversight

• Conduct nursing assessments, medication administration oversight, and withdrawal support services.
• Evaluate the medical status of new and current patients and coordinate referrals to outside providers.
• Develop and update patient care plans; collaborate with medical staff and external healthcare partners.
• Ensure accurate, confidential documentation and compliance with all clinical standards.
• Oversee completion of required admissions assessments and levels of care documentation.

Leadership & Team Management

• Supervise RNs, LPNs, pharmacy technicians, and medical assistants through coaching, observation, and frequent team meetings.
• Manage weekly nursing schedules and staffing assignments.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for nursing leadership.
• Prepare agendas and facilitate medical case conferences.
• Address concerns or complaints in accordance with relevant policies and codes of conduct.

Regulatory, Quality, & Operational Support

• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and reporting requirements.
• Conduct quality assurance audits and documentation reviews.
• Maintain staff training records, competencies, and required regulatory certifications.
• Support program policies, procedures, and additional operational needs as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
• ANY Supervisory experience
• Experience in work with with substance use or dual-diagnosis populations
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask, collaborate, and perform well in challenging situations
• Proficiency with electronic health records, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and online training platforms
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards in patient care
