Scheduling Specialist II

Pride Health is hiring a Scheduling Specialist II for one of its clients in California.

This is a 6-month contract with competitive pay and benefits.

Location – Newport Beach, California (92660)

Pay range - $20 - $25 per hour.

Length of assignment – 6 months contract (LOA coverage)

Shift – M - F 9 am - 530 pm; 100% onsite.

Job Summary

The Scheduling Specialist II assists in the coordination of the Patient Procedure/Surgical schedule.

The Specialist II collaborates in the management and scheduling of complex surgical procedures that may require multiple appointments, as well as add-ons and emergent procedures, facilitating communication between patients, physicians, multiple organizational departments, and staff members.

Job Duties

• Collaborates with Insurance Verification Specialists and assists with the authorization process.
• Coordinates with patients in the scheduling of pre-procedure diagnostic tests and clearances, treatment plans, and cycles.
• Creates patient itineraries and makes changes as requested.
• Responsible for clerical support, patient registration, filing, data entry, preparation of patient charts, and other clerical duties as assigned.
• Assists with the master schedule for procedures and coordinates case resource needs.
• Interacts directly with patients and works in a high call volume environment.
• Participates in the continuous quality improvement processes.
• Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures, including the use of specialized instrumentation, Quality Control requirements, and preventative maintenance.
• Maintains confidentiality.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two (2) years' previous scheduling experience in a healthcare setting.
• Full understanding of medical insurance procedures required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of proper body mechanics and safety measures.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, plus Healthcare database systems required.
• Strong knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
• Proven ability to interface with all customer levels (Physicians, Staff, Vendors, Patients, Family members.
