Job Summary

Join Spectrum Brands (NYSE: SPB), a multi-billion dollar global Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) powerhouse with a portfolio of powerful, globally recognized brands. This is your opportunity to lead operations at our largest U.S. plant—a premier manufacturing center for our Home & Garden division, offering the stability and strategic influence of a multinational enterprise.

We are actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Production Manager to join our Plant Leadership Team at our Vanita Park, Missouri plant. Reporting directly to the Site Senior Director of Manufacturing, you will champion our critical high speed Aerosol and Liquid Filling operations, driving supply chain success from end-to-end. This leadership position requires you to be the strategic champion who inspires, develops, and leads the manufacturing team to achieve success. You will own all critical operational KPIs—including Service, Cost, Productivity, Quality, Safety, and NPD/EPD start-up—by actively driving the implementation and sustainment of Continuous Improvement (CI)/Lean Manufacturing efforts across the plant.

This role oversees a highly dynamic, seasonal business that is a 24/7 continuous operation during peak periods, requiring you to lead a team of supervisors, engineers, and maintenance personnel who guide an overall workforce of 100 to 200 employees.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Talent Development & Safety Culture

  • Coach & Mentor: Foster a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion. You will develop staff and create clear personal growth plans to ensure every employee feels encouraged and motivated to contribute at their full potential.
  • Safety First: Instill a positive, proactive safety culture to minimize accidents and lost-time injuries, ensuring all training standards (including Job Safety Analysis - JSA) are developed, maintained, and actively enforced.

Operational Command & Financial Stewardship

  • Financial Performance: Maintain full accountability for the financial performance of all managed manufacturing areas, ensuring compliance with budgets and proactively identifying opportunities for cost reduction without sacrificing quality or safety.
  • Maximize Flow: Optimize production flow, manage staffing for the 24/7 schedule, and relentlessly troubleshoot manufacturing issues to ensure the on-time production and shipment of conforming products.
  • Strategic Growth: Develop and execute plans that directly support the Home & Garden business's 3-year strategic growth objectives.

Continuous Improvement & Quality Leadership

  • Drive CI: Lead the implementation and sustainment of Lean Manufacturing principles across multiple production units. You will lead the Tier Lean Process to meet or exceed daily KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and continually monitor results against planned goals, taking swift corrective action.
  • Compliance Governance: Partner with Quality and Regulatory groups to uphold high product quality standards and implement robust quality systems that meet customer requirements.

Cross-Functional Strategy

  • Site Leadership: Serve as a critical member of the Plant Leadership Team, leading the development and sharing of best practices across the entire corporate network.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively across functions (Quality, Supply Chain, Finance) to ensure cohesive execution toward unified KPIs (service, cost, quality, and safety).

  • 7 or more years of management experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general computer proficiency.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with exceptional attention to detail.
