Job Description

Position Profile:

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the leadership and execution of supply chain activities including production planning, inventory management and inventory control pertaining to process and valuation. The position leads the execution of appropriate inventory levels across multiple production, distribution and fulfillment facilities to help the Company achieve its revenue and profitability objectives. This position will drive the application of best practices, processes and concepts to ensure a high level of accuracy in this critical investment in working capital to support the Customer and our Brands. The Supply Chain Manager may manage Planners, Production Planners, Inventory Planners, Inventory Control Analysts, Inventory Supervisors, Inventory Leads or similarly assigned roles.

Work Responsibilities:

Function Management

  • Measure, monitor, analyze and report inventory levels to the Operations and Commercial Teams.
  • Primary contact for the Commercial and Sales Team on inventory availability
  • Provides proactive communication around inventory activities and statuses to internal teams including Sales, Customer Experience, Planning, Purchasing and Distribution / Fulfillment
  • Provide guidance to Planners as they work with on and offsite facilities to support customer demand.
  • At different times, may need to assist in Planning or Scheduling activities with our inhouse or external production facilities based on business requirements or seasonal needs.
  • Execute inventory reporting, identifying low and excess stock items, with effective communication to the Operations and Commercial Teams.
  • Publish inventory reporting identifying out of stock items and estimates for back in-stock dates with effective communication to the Operations and Commercial Teams.
  • Lead the End-of-Life / Sunsetting process in partnership with Engineering Change Management
  • Assist in the resolution of issues involving order promising, deviations to planned inventory levels, establishment and utilization of safety stock, and customer delivery difficulties.
  • Partner with the Purchasing Team on the execution of targeted inventory strategies for new and existing items as well product line transitions in a cost-effective manner to balance inventory investment and customer fill rate.
  • Execute continuous improvement of cost-effective supply chain strategies as we aspire to deliver best in class inventory management and customer service.
  • Manage the integration of information between various systems as well as ensure status of inventory remains accurate throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Research and recommend strategies and tactics to optimize inventory control procedures to drive minimization of inventory loss by incorporating best supply chain practices.
  • Provide leadership to the Inventory Control team in reviewing and reconciling offsite inventory with Vendor Partners monthly.

Strategy Design & Execution

  • Own the annual inventory plan and accountable for the implementation of the plan.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and reporting to track performance and drive change in underperforming areas.
  • Make recommendations to leadership about improvements in inventory life cycle.
  • Develop and evaluate what-if simulations to resolve demand/supply imbalances.

Staff Management: Responsible for providing leadership to the team and ensuring that the team has the talent, resources, and readiness to meet team goals as well as ensuring maximum productivity and performance. Models CURiO Cornerstones and uses cornerstones framework in decision making.

  • Effectively manage a multi-locational team under a fast pace and constantly changing circumstances.
  • Hire, train and develop teams, ensuring that each employee has a clear and thorough understanding of their role and responsibilities.
  • Effectively orient new hires to CURiO culture, structure and specific role and responsibilities, ensuring a positive and productive employee experience.
  • Utilize the company’s performance management program as designed to align individual performance to overall performance objectives. Provide ongoing performance feedback. Identify and take appropriate action for non-performance.
  • Guide and coach direct reports to produce business results by working collaboratively within and among cross-functional teams.
  • Support employee development, offering opportunities for expansion of skills and capabilities to prepare for career growth.
  • Ensure all CURiO communication is disseminated to the team in a positive and timely manner.
  • Administer all internal policies and procedures in accordance with company, human resources, budgetary, and finance guidelines. Ensure accuracy of staff data records.

Position requires extended work hours as necessary to meet seasonal deadlines. Performs other work as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Five years of experience in inventory management or a related operations management field.
  • Three years’ experience effectively managing, supervising, and coaching staff

Computer and/or software qualifications:

  • Basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working in an enterprise level, database design software (ERP)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: APICS or IBF Certification
  • Experience in inventory management in a consumer goods environment is desired
  • Experience in a retailer, and manufacturing environment is a plus

Travel Requirement :up to 10%

Hybrid Working Environment and Physical Demands:

  • General office or home office environment: Works at a desk in a well-lit, air-conditioned cubicle/office/home office, with moderate noise levels.
  • Frequent exposure to dusty and fragrant conditions, varying temperature levels, work near moving mechanical parts, and high noise environments is possible.
  • Ability to sit for hours at a time, viewing computer monitor on a constant basis. Some walking and standing relative to interaction with other personnel.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move items weighing 25 – 50 pounds.
  • When in a facility, frequent exposure to dusty and fragrant conditions, varying temperature levels, work near moving mechanical parts, and high noise environments is possible.
  • When in a facility, may be increased walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching and pulling required.
