Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Talent Physician Sourcer to support a leading healthcare organization in Dallas, TX. This role is instrumental in identifying, engaging, and attracting top physician talent across multiple clinical specialties. The Talent Physician Sourcer partners closely with Physician Recruiters, Department Chairs, and Division Chiefs to build strong talent pipelines, implement sourcing strategies, and ensure a diverse pool of highly qualified candidates aligned with organizational clinical, academic, and research goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Physician Recruiters and departmental leadership to understand specialty-specific workforce needs and develop targeted sourcing strategies.
  • Research and identify qualified physician candidates through multiple channels, including databases, professional networks, academic institutions, online platforms, and medical associations.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of active and passive physician candidates across key specialties (primary care, hospital-based medicine, surgical, and subspecialty areas).
  • Conduct initial outreach, screening, and interest assessments to ensure alignment with role requirements and organizational values.
  • Maintain accurate candidate data and progress tracking within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Recruitment, Faculty Affairs, HR, Legal, Credentialing) to ensure smooth handoff from sourcing to recruitment stages.
  • Leverage creative sourcing techniques and market intelligence to identify new talent pools and develop long-term relationships with potential candidates.
  • Represent the organization at physician networking events, conferences, and professional meetings to promote employer brand and attract talent.
  • Support diversity and inclusion initiatives by expanding outreach to underrepresented physician groups and associations.
  • Monitor and report sourcing metrics, market insights, and pipeline activity to leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare talent sourcing or recruitment, including at least 1 year focused on physician, provider, or executive-level sourcing.
  • Proven success identifying and engaging passive candidates through multiple sourcing channels.
  • Strong knowledge of medical specialties, licensure pathways, and healthcare recruiting compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience sourcing physicians in an academic medical center or large health system.
  • Familiarity with Taleo, Workday, or other enterprise-level ATS platforms.
  • Certification such as AAPPR Certified Physician/Provider Recruitment Professional (CPRP) or equivalent sourcing certification is a plus.

Work Schedule

  • Hybrid schedule with flexibility to work remotely and onsite as required for meetings, training, and rounding with hiring leaders.
