Job Title: Accounts Receivable Collector – Healthcare Insurance Collections

Location: Houston, TX

Pay: $18–$22 per hour (dependent upon years of experience)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable (AR) Collector. The AR Collector will be responsible for managing accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances, and maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and monitor patient accounts and outstanding balances.
• Contact commercial and government insurances to collect payments and resolve billing issues.
• Post payments, adjustments, and other transactions accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) or billing system.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and denials.
• Generate reports on accounts receivable status, collections, and aging.
• Collaborate with the billing and finance teams to optimize collections and reduce outstanding receivables.
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in healthcare accounts receivable.
• Knowledge of medical billing, insurance claims, and EHR/billing systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
• Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Working Conditions:

• Full-time, Monday–Friday, standard office hours.
