Job Description

MUST:

• 2+ years as a paralegal or compliance analyst
• Very strong with Reviewing contracts , Analyzing agreements and legal documents
• Very reliable
• Understanding of drafting contract language and generating contractual materials for life/disability carrier
• Proficient in specifically WORD and Excel
• Able to learn their contract issuing system (we are generating a policy in office 365 then will sit there and validate the data from the admin system, then special benefit provision, then using our systems to help draft and generate the contract)
• Experience reviewing, customizing, proofing documents
• Ok with joining during a heavy volume part of the year.

PLUS:

• Bachelor’s/Associates Degree

• Long term and short term disability
• Worked for Unum, Hartford, Lincoln- employee benefits carrier
• Worked specifically for a group insurance carrier
• Very hands on with either group life insurance or group disability insurance – ideally knows both, but must know at least 1

Day to day:

Our client is seeking two Contract Analysts to join their team on a temporary basis through the end of Jan 2026. The Contract Analyst role consists of generating state compliant contracts, certificates, administrative agreements for group life, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, long term and short-term disability, critical illness, hospital indemnity, and accident insurance coverage. The contractual materials are created in a word-based system, reviewed for accuracy of data and state rules, in addition to customizing any non-standard provisions into the documents.

• Product knowledge of Group Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Long Term and Short-Term Disabilities, Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital Indemnity insurance coverages

• May be required to draft non-standard contract wording, with guidance when needed from Senior Contract Analyst and/or Compliance; incorporates this wording into contractual documents.

• Reviews cases bound in PACS and EIS by Underwriting for contractual compliance and PACS/EIS/Xpertdoc compatibility.

• Reviews contractual materials for accuracy and compliance.

• Maintains established production standards of at least 5-6 cases per day, with low error ratio, with an average number of incoming pieces of work per week of less than 35.
