Senior Chemist
The Senior Chemist will lead the analytical operations for Arzeda’s Quality Control Laboratory. This will include initially helping to run operations, mentoring/training team members to run operations, being responsible for maintaining data quality via process controls and maintaining/scheduling maintenance of the instrumentation.
Job Description
● Design, establish, and manage robust pipelines for analytical operations (e.g. utilizing statistical process control, time-saving lab techniques, and data-driven continuous improvement)
● Interface across groups to build and maintain data-tracking pipelines (e.g. sample submission, experiment design, data processing, etc.)
● Maintain and troubleshoot instrument hardware
● Mentor and train analysts and technicians
● Adapt quantitative, high-throughput assays for Quality Control Assays
● Interfaces and support the Commercial Organization and CMOs regarding analytical and quality matters.
● Work in collaboration with method development personnel in developing a suitable methodology for Quality Control assays.
● Assist in drafting quality Control policies and procedures
● Evaluate adequacy of quality control standards and check samples
● Collect and compile statistical quality control data
● Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality control methods and operations
● Assist in the Investigations of customer complaints and method non-conformance issues, and implement the appropriate Corrective & Preventative actions
● Provide Quality Control support to meet department and corporate objectives for both ongoing business and new product development. Responsible for ensuring products or services meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance required for distribution and the market.
Qualifications
● Ph.D. or M.S in relevant fields (chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, etc.) with 5+ years of experience in industry
● Experience developing and implementing analytical methods, sample prep techniques, experiment design, and data analysis.
● Subject matter expert in the operation and maintenance of analytical equipment (e.g. HPLC, LC-MS etc.), focusing on chromatography and high-throughput and quantitative mass spec analyses.
● Experience liaising internally with other managers and departments and externally with CMOs.
● Ability to achieve high level goals and objectives and translate them into actionable work to meet Arzeda’s Quality ambitions.
● Excellent communication and listening skills.
