We are currently seeking Tool & Die Makers (Level 1 and Level 2) for a manufacturing company in Shelton, CT.
Position Summary and Special Duties:
As a Tool & Die Maker, your day-to-day duties will consist of, but may not be limited to:
Job Description:
• Build, assemble, and troubleshoot progressive dies to meet client and production requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on dies to ensure efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Use precision measuring tools to inspect and adjust die components as needed.
• Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications to ensure accuracy of designs.
• Operate machine tools such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines to fabricate die components.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to company standards.
• Maintain records and documentation related to die maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoot issues with dies and resolve them effectively to minimize production delays.
Level 1 Requirements:
• Entry-level candidate with some experience in Tool & Die making.
• Good work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Basic understanding of machining and toolmaking principles.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Comfortable working with hand tools and machinery.
• Salary: $19.00 - $22.00/hour depending on experience.
Level 2 Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in Tool & Die making.
• Strong ability to build, troubleshoot, and maintain progressive dies.
• Advanced knowledge of machining and toolmaking techniques.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead junior-level employees if needed.
• Salary: $28.00 - $32.00/hour depending on experience.
Level 3 Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA software.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
